The 2024 Formula 1 season has been a challenging one for Logan, but the Floridian will have learnt a great deal from the campaign’s first 14 races.
After a difficult start in Bahrain, Sarge put in an improved performance at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix — recording a commendable P14 finish, having only qualified in 19th place.
But LS2 was rueful about not climbing even further in Jeddah:
“It was a decent race with a good 35 laps, however we didn’t quite have the pace needed for the last 15 laps,” he said.
“I was starting to explore the potential towards the end of the race, but it was a bit too late.“
If I’d have realised the potential earlier, we could have picked more off.
”A testing run of races followed that weekend in Saudi Arabia, before a battling performance saw Logan finish P15 at the Monaco Grand Prix in Round 8.
And a highlight of the season came in Austria a month later, when Sarge reached Q2 in Sprint Quali to record his best qualifying result of 2024.
That visit to the Red Bull Ring was swiftly followed by the British Grand Prix, where Logan came agonisingly close to securing a point — recording a P11 finish at Silverstone.
“It was a good day in general,” he said after the race.
“From FP2 where we struggled in high fuel, we put the car in a much better place, and it showed.
“We had good pace, particularly on the slick tyre. I struggled a little on the drying track with the Inters by degrading the tyres a little bit too much.
“We executed everything relatively well and kept it together in tricky conditions.”
Though recent trips to Hungary and Belgium yielded less positive results, there will be plenty more opportunities for Logan to challenge for points following the summer shutdown — starting with the Dutch Grand Prix later this month.
